Ah the flu... I've had it for four days now.

Since I'm feeling better, I thought I should post something. I went back through my files and found some photos I shot for a web site that's no longer up (the owner passed on, I'm afraid), but I did some good work designing that one. Remember, I designed the labels for the products too, so I put a lot of time in on this one.

After looking at last week's post, I think I uploaded the wrong cover file. The file looks so bright on this site! Oh well, it's going nowhere, so let's see some of the other stuff I found while researching the marketing for the book.

My husband has been writing a lot, and now has a contract for one of his books. I designed the ecover for the book before it was picked up and it will probably only be seen here...

While he was waiting for the contract to come back, he decided to put together some of his short stories under a pseudonym. This one will be available through Amazon later this month.

Just photoshopped for you, my pretties!

OMG I found this old polaroid picture of myself, my mom, her half sister Lois and her husband Art that I had scanned ages ago. It was taken in the early 70s.

So sad what time does to photos, especially those shot with the instant cameras of the day. So I took it into my Photoshop program and tried to fix it a bit. Unfortunately, the resolution on those old cameras was low, so there's only so much you can do with them. Here is what it looks like now:

Today I thought I should change a bit from the web art and show something more hands on.

While living in the Woodlands, I was a member of the Woodlands Art League. We were charity partners with the Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival and would do demos and such. This is Pete, our model in 2010, and the portrait I did of him. (He bought the picture, by the way...)

Well, this week has been a blur - it's already Thursday and I haven't added anything to my blog.
I did find this among all my digital files. It's the front of a birthday card for a press man where I used to work. I thought it came out pretty well. This is the front and inside. Remember, these were done in between jobs, when work was sloooowwwwww.

Here is another example of a web page that I designed and built the skeleton for - Diva State. It was designed in black, white, neon green and neon orange. Very cool. The menu (upper right) resized for hover and select options.

This week I am adding some pictures of web headers and backgrounds I have done. The Steilacoom Chamber of Commerce was the one they DIDN'T pick - you'll have to go to their website to see the one they chose.

 This one was from my husband's old blog, it's no longer out there.

 Above the Sound is still operating and open.

My brother in law is a plumber! We did this one for practice so it is very simple.

 Here are more tickets and a screen saver for my computer at work. 

Most of the screen savers don't take too long, just a cut out and some some type and effects.

The tickets can take hours or minutes, depending on the program I'm using The fish and St. Croix were done using Corel Photo Paint. The Silver rain used Photoshop and Corel Draw.

Oh, it doesn't look like much, but a lot of time this week was spent getting these files ready for printing. This is something like what the red ticket will look like when the offset and data printing is added.

I also made purple, blue, green and yellow blanks - each 16 up.

The offset and data lines are customized for each team playing against the Wizards.

Here is another background, made with the same program (Corel Paint). I used embossed type on this one. It's a lizard eye with just type added and an ornament.

Here is something fun I created at work for my desktop. I used Corel Paint (a really OLD version) to enlarge the photo horizontally and used the bird's color for the type. I've done lots of these and will add more when time permits.
